Assignments related to Test #4

I divided the assignments into shorter ones so you can complete them quicker. Be sure all your assignments are numbered and in order so my secretary can quickly check them off on Monday. I will instruct her to give a zero to anyone who does not have them prepared, numbered and in order when she asks for them.

Assignment #16

Section 9.1/ 45-63(skip by 3), 65-70, 71-74(see examples 3 & 4), 75-84 (skip by 3)

Assignment #17

Section 9.2/ Write down the definition of similarity and copy Examples 2 & 3 in your notes. Do 29, 31, 33-38, 41-44, 73

If you finish the others early and would like to try these 4 problems: 47, 50, 53-56, and 63-68, they are like some bonus problems you might see on the test.

Assignment #18

Section 9.3/ Review all examples. Do 5, 10, 14, 15, 21, 22, 26, 27, 30, 52

Assignment #19

Section 9.4/ Review all examples except example 5. Do 7, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 25, 27, 28

Assignment 8

In Sections 3.1 answer #'s 1-8, 12-45(skip by 3), 47-56, 57-66(by 3)
To do so will require you read the section and try the examples which are very short

In Section 3.2 read and fill in the blank

Assignments related to Test 1

Assignment 1

Section 1.1/ from your notes besure you can answer the questions 1-8

Seperately under the Label "Assignment 1" do the following problems/ 11-14 (special instructions below:

on #13 how are they getting the next row? Describe.
What patternes are readily apparent in the triangle?
Add up each individual line of the triangle and tell me what pattern you observe.
Add up the sum of all the numbers for the 1 layer triangle, the two layer triangle, the three and the four layered trinagles and tell me about your observations.

Additionally try to show two of the following:
1. The square of an even number is an even also even
2. The product of an odd with an even is an even ( a product mathematically is result of multiplying)
3. The difference between and odd and an odd is always even.
4. An odd times itself is also odd.

Read the section on page 74-75 subheading "Verification of Equalities of Sets" Answer my question: How does one go about showing with deductive reasoning that two set statements are equivalent for all sets?
